What are the meanings of KANJI letters
used in prefecture names?

The most used kanji letter/part in 47 Japanese prefecture names is ”山”.

 
Kanji of ”山”(mauntain)
 

”山” means mountainin English.

 
”川” means riverin English.

 
Kanji of ”川”(river)
 
card of ”石” and ”川”

 
”木” means treein English. This letter is not used in prefecture names, but if you arrange 2 of ”木” letters next to each other, another kanji letter ”林” will be formed, which means “woods” in English.
If you arrange 3 of ”木” letters, then another kanji letter ”森” will be formed, which means “forest”.

How to play (rules)

This Japanese kanji game is the game where you aim to complete Japanese prefecture names by combining different kanji letters and kanji parts like a puzzle.
There are however 2 different ways to decide the winner of the game: 《1》 “Quickie Rule” that allows a quick gameplay, or 《2》 “Strategic Rule” that requires some strategic thinking.

Game rules 《1and 2are both simple to understand, so that you can enjoy the game with your friends and family right away.But then, for those non-Japanese players, kanji letters may look difficult because they may not be familiar with them.
 
That is why 120 cards in total are divided and packed into 2 different cases, with Part 1 cards and Part 2 cards.
We recommend playing the games by dividing all cards into Part 1 and Part 2 until you get familiar with the kanji letters and parts.
